Congratulations to our 2018 Grand Finals winners!

This year's Building Excellence Awards Grand Finals took place on Friday 9 November 2018.

A record-breaking 860 attendees from the world of building and local authority building control attended our biggest ever event, held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and hosted by Jon Culshaw, comedian and impressionist best known for Dead Ringers on Radio 4.

Paul Everall, Chief Executive of LABC said "Our winners demonstrate how positive working relationships with local council building control teams achieve high quality, sustainable buildings. Our awards are unique because they recognise how this cooperation improves building standards and professionalism across the industry."

Finalists were made up of the regional winners from our 12 regions, and Grand Finals winners this year included a cinema hub with exhibition space, cafe and restaurant in Lewes (the Depot), a visitor and education centre at International Bomber Command in Lincoln, and an Aerospace Integration Research Centre in Bedfordshire.

Winners and highly commended were chosen by a panel of construction industry experts from a list of high quality projects from around England and Wales to reward the best in technical innovation, sustainability and design.

Guests at the event enjoyed live music, a casino, caricaturists and magicians and helped add to the amount raised for this year's President's Charity - Oracle Cancer Trust. Over £62,000 has been raised to date.
