Plymouth City Council launches new initiative to improve building standards
Plymouth City Council's building control team have launched their new builders list. This new initiative focuses on quality, consistency and a commitment to regular training and updates.
Ten local construction firms have so far made the list and they joined the building control team for the launch event last Friday. This took place on site in the new supporters bar at Plymouth Argyle Football Club thanks to Select Developments (Plymouth) Ltd.
LABC's Head of Business Development Anna Thompson took part and said: "This sends out such a positive message about the quality of local builders in the city. These contractors are not afraid to work with a robust and thorough building control service – they have nothing to hide, they welcome opportunities for training and learning and they really care about their customers and clients."
Justin Andrews said: "Andrews Builders are proud to have been chosen along with only nine other building companies by Plymouth building control to join the builders list. A great achievement for myself and all the team."
Building Control Manager Guy Cooper said: "We are very proud of this new initiative. Thank you to everyone who attended and for being part of the pilot to improve building standards in our local area."
