LABC Building Excellence Awards 2024 winner: Best Residential and Small Commercial Designer

The LABC Grand Finals 2024 took place on Friday 24 January 2025, at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel. A celebration recognising excellent projects and individual contributions within the construction industry.

A panel of expert judges carefully reviewed a diverse range of exceptional projects, professionals, and teams, recognising their invaluable contributions to the industry.

The LABC Building Excellence Awards highlight the key role of public sector building control teams in ensuring the safety, quality, and sustainability of construction projects, showcasing the sector’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

LABC is delighted to announce that the WINNER of the Best Residential and Small Commercial Designer is Jim Mundy, Richard Mundy Building Design Ltd.

Jim has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, dealing with planning and building control in the peak district, from conception to completion. 

Jim is known for being reliable, professional, and maintaining integrity. He provides clear, detailed plans and ensures compliance, never taking on work outside the company’s expertise. With experience in the Peak District, Jim has handled complex situations while preserving the area’s beauty. His team works closely with building control to meet high standards, and Jim takes pride in delivering quality projects that benefit the community.

Of his own achievements, Jim has said he is proud of the way he works, always putting the customer first and going the extra mile to help them achieve their dreams. He is honest with customers, clearly explaining what can be achieved while maintaining the beautiful character of the Peak District.
