GetLead! - a phone app reference tool for leadwork
Understanding lead code requirements for particular work, installation detailing and length of laps are common issues that our building control teams get involved with.
Now there’s a quick and easy way to get the answers to all of your questions with a really clever mobile phone app from the British Lead Mills (BLM).
It’s designed to offer a one stop solution for any roofer or builder (or designer, specifier or building control officer) using BLM’s products.
The GetLead! app offers full product information, installation guides with exclusive video content, weight and roof pitch calculators and a stockist locator; enabling users to search for their nearest British Lead supplier by current location or postcode.
Search results are listed by closest proximity, with additional information including contact details, web address and directions and the ability to call or email the branch directly from the app.
The exclusive videos cover some common Leadwork applications including soakers, step flashing, step and cover flashing, apron and linear flashing and hip and ridge flashing. Contractors can check the weight of lead and allow them to find the minimum lap required using an inbuilt measure to check the roof pitch degree.
Users can also find answers to the most frequently asked questions about lead production, technical aspects of Rolled Lead Sheet such as quality, weight, sizing, and correct use, as well as orders and delivery and advice on health and safety.
Russ Taylor, Sales Development Manager at BLM British Lead, said: “The BLM Get Lead! The app is the first of its kind for the Lead industry.
"We gave the features and content considerable thought to ensure it offers a one stop solution for any roofer or builder using BLM’s products.
"Whether it’s the installation guides and how to videos, stockist locator, calculators or product information, we are confident there is something here for everyone and it will provide a convenient reference tool for the future”.
LABC have been really impressed with the app and are happy to recommend it as an invaluable information source for use whenever it’s convenient.
The app will be available free of charge for both Apple and Android devices. You can download it from either iTunes or Google Play by searching GetLead! or using the links on the GetLead! app page.
