Expert speakers endorse public service building control

Dame Judith Hackitt

Delegates at LABC's recent annual conference heard from a variety of expert speakers from across the construction industry including Dame Judith Hackitt who now chairs the Industry Safety Steering Group. In a wide ranging speech she made a powerful case for implementing all of her reforms, thanking LABC for their support for reform and leadership in changing the culture of the industry. She also made clear that residents needed to be listened to. You can see some highlights of her speech below.

Claire Curtis-Thomas

Conference was also wowed by Claire Curtis-Thomas of LABC's partner the BBA who spoke powerfully about why poor products, lack of marking and substitution was bad news for the industry and consumers.

Emily Monastiriotis of law firm Simmons and Simmons also summed up the legal landscape in a post-Grenfell world.
