LABC Building Excellence Awards 2024 winner: LABC Newcomer of the Year

The LABC Grand Finals 2024 took place on Friday 24 January 2025, at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel. A celebration recognising excellent projects and individual contributions within the construction industry.

A panel of expert judges carefully reviewed a diverse range of exceptional projects, professionals, and teams, recognising their invaluable contributions to the industry.

The LABC Building Excellence Awards highlight the key role of public sector building control teams in ensuring the safety, quality, and sustainability of construction projects, showcasing the sector’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

LABC is delighted to announce that the WINNER of LABC Newcomer of the Year is Brieze Bradford, Babergh & Mid Suffolk District Councils.

Brieze joined from the admin and technical support team at Babergh & Mid Suffolk District Council, where she had completed the CIOB Level 3 Certificate in Technical Support for Public Service Building Standards in 2021. Then, Brieze applied for and successfully secured a place in the first cohort of the LABC Academy trainee programme. Brieze went on to complete her Level 4 with a distinction and has continued to excel in her Level 5 studies, achieving a distinction in her first two submissions.

Drawing on her strong background, Brieze has consistently delivered exceptional customer service, which has made a noticeable impact on both clients and colleagues. Builders appreciate her professionalism, and she has quickly become a valuable asset to the team. Brieze’s careful approach and attention to detail is highlighted in her inspection work, ensuring high standards all around, showing an understanding of how important customer service is for retaining clients.
