The LABC Grand Finals 2024 took place on Friday 24 January 2025, at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel. A celebration recognising excellent projects and individual contributions within the construction industry.
A panel of expert judges carefully reviewed a diverse range of exceptional projects, professionals, and teams, recognising their invaluable contributions to the industry.
The LABC Building Excellence Awards highlight the key role of public sector building control teams in ensuring the safety, quality, and sustainability of construction projects, showcasing the sector’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
LABC is delighted to announce that the WINNER of Best Purpose-Built Accommodation is Gascoigne House, Leeds.
Situated in the heart of Middleton in Leeds, Gascoigne House is a purpose-built Apartment Extra Care Scheme comprising of communal facilities, café,
hair salon, spa, and roof terrace, all within its own landscaped grounds. This project represents the full range of community-focused benefits that new developments should offer. Gascoigne House provides local shared facilities, creates jobs, supports health and well-being, and works to improve the lives of the wider community, not just those living in the new homes.
The site team engaged with the building control team at Leeds City Council at the earliest stages of the design process, providing as much detailed information as possible. This proactive approach allowed the team to benefit from the valuable input of building control, which helped ensure compliance. As a result, only a minimal number of issues remained to be addressed on-site, allowing Gascoigne House to be the success it is today.
Looking ahead, LABC remains committed to working together to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality in construction, continuing to drive progress and excellence across the sector.
