ISO roll out almost complete with 245 accredited teams

Standards accreditation to show competency and consistency

Almost all LABC building control teams (245 out of a total of 287) are now accredited with an independently audited quality management system. This means each team can demonstrate that its procedures, training and management meet the internationally recognised and consistent ISO standard.

The standards are supported by independent UKAS accredited audit and the LABC competency matrix which drives the registration of public service surveyors and technical staff and ensures proficiency.

Central Building Control Partnership – working across six local authorities in the midlands – is one of the latest teams to achieve accreditation.

LABC is now seeking ISO17024 registration from UKAS so it can assess, register and license individuals in future – and if successful will be one of just 25 organisations in the UK to achieve the standard.
