Block of flats - building regulations amendments

The FIA (Fire Industry Association) have issued a guidance note on the Building Regulations amendments that came into force in 2018.

The amendment introduced major restrictions on on the combustibility of materials used within external walls of certain types of buildings (referred to as "relevant buildings") in England.

The additional restrictions, and the way that those changes have been introduced, will have a major impact on those types of buildings and anyone involved in the design of those types of buildings needs to be extremely careful to ensure that they fully comply with the Amended Regulations.

The document is of relevance to fire engineers, architects, engineers, developers and contractors as well as approving authorities.
