MHCLG have announced a review on the ban on the use of combustible materials (including attachments) in and on external walls of buildings.

The consultation seeks views on amendments to the ban, including changes to building types covered, height threshold, list of exemptions, attachments such as blinds, shutters and awnings, and a proposal to specifically ban the use of metal composite panels in and on the external walls of buildings.

The consultation will run for 12 weeks and closes at 11:45pm on 13 April 2020.
