This policy explains when and why we collect personal information on visitors to our site Inspection app, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

How do we collect information from you?
LABC built the LABC site inspection app as a free app. This service is provided by LABC at no cost and is intended for use as is. If you choose to use our service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The information that we collect is used for providing and improving the service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Why do we do this?
To enable us to carry out the function of this service we require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including name, email address and phone number. The information that we request will be retained by us for 14 days and used as described in this privacy policy.

Log data
Whenever you use our service, in case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called log data. This log data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilising our service, the time and date of your use of the service, and other statistics.

This service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. Who has access to your information?
LABC is a membership network of local authorities in England and Wales. The site inspection app delivers site inspection requests requested through the app to individual authorities via email.
LABC does not sell data to any third party and will only share some data when it is relevant in the ways described above.
The local authority will be acting as a data controller of your information and therefore we advise you to read their Privacy Policy.

Use of 'cookies'
Like many other apps, the LABC app uses cookies to help improve the app and your experience of it. 'Cookies' are small pieces of information sent by an organisation to your computer and stored on your hard drive to allow that app to recognise you when you visit.
Security
LABC treats the security of your personal information very seriously.
When you enter personal information into the site inspection request form, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). It also uses PHP PDO with an additional layer of protection, prepared statements, to protect your information.
However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Data is only available to those people who have responsibility for delivering services and communications.
No personal information over 14 days old is retained by LABC after 14 days to ensure that no personal data is held for longer than necessary.
