Employees from 12 England and Wales local authority building control regions were given LABC Superstar awards on the 20th March, at a Gala Dinner in Leicester.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, LABC Chief Executive Paul Everall said: “It was a real pleasure to announce this year’s Superstar Award winners at our Conference Dinner. One of the most successful things LABC does is to organise Regional and National Building Excellence Awards where we celebrate the excellent work done by architects and builders who work with the building control teams in local authorities.

"But we must not forget the brilliant work done by our own members in supporting our clients. To read the citations as to how individuals had contributed and gone well beyond the call of duty was a humbling experience. Well done to them all.”

Going the extra mile

These honours are given every year to celebrate the unique individuals who go that extra mile to support colleagues, delight their customers or protect the public in an exemplary way - basically, who go above and beyond the call of duty.

Chair of the judging panel and LABC President, Richard Scott commented: “I have had the pleasure of being on the judging panel for the LABC Superstar Awards this year. Reading the nominations filled me with a real sense of pride, it’s clear we have managers, surveyors and support teams who’re delivering an excellent service, going that “extra mile” to ensure our customers’ expectations are met and often exceeded.

"A big thank you to all those who took the time to nominate, it is so important to recognise the great people we have working in local authority building control. Well done to you all”.
