LABC Strategic Review 2019

LABC have launched our Strategic Review document for 2019. Entitled 'Raising Standards in Public Service Building Control,' it outlines the strategic developments we've been working on including:

  • Working with MHCLG to implement the Hackitt reforms
  • Helping local authorities review, transform and provide resilient services
  • Measuring staff competencies with free (or heavily subsidised) learning and CPD
  • Providing apprenticeships and qualifications that qualify for levy funds
  • Implementing consistent standards backed by an ISO quality management system across England and Wales that can be implemented at no cost to local authorities
  • Influencing policy and practice at local, devolved and national levels

This programme started back in 2016 and there is a lot more to do, but we are determined that LABC will continue to develop its national standards, improve our quality management systems, assess professional competency and provide more and better learning options for our individual members.
