Rod Wooldridge, Jenner (Contractors) Ltd wins at 2017 LABC Building Excellence Awards Grand Final

Rod Wooldridge, Jenner (Contractors) Ltd was awarded the title of LABC Non-residential Site Agent of the Year at the Grand Final of the LABC Building Excellence Awards – one of the most recognised events on the building industry’s calendar.

A panel of industry experts judged a list of the highest quality projects and professionals from around England and Wales to reward the best in technical innovation, sustainability and design.

The nomination focused on Rod’s performance as Site Agent on the Hayesbank Surgery project in Ashford, Kent. This scheme involved the extension and refurbishment of a busy GP surgery with and an adjacent pharmacy which were operational throughout. The project was undertaken for the NHS with the usual time and budgetary restrictions. Rod is known as a proactive Site Manager, with many years or experience in delivering complex healthcare projects. His colleagues at Jenner call him ‘Mr Surgery’ and he is always first choice when it comes to delivering complex health schemes.

The smooth delivery of Hayesbank project is one of his greatest achievements. Managing a live construction site while a surgery with 17,500 patients remains fully operational is no mean feat!

The Grand Finals of the LABC Building Excellence Awards took place on Friday 10 November 2017 at the Westminster Park Plaza in London and was hosted by Gyles Brandreth, writer, broadcaster, actor, and former Conservative Member of Parliament.  Over 800 building industry professionals including contractors, architects and engineers attended the celebration to find out which projects won across the 15 hotly contested categories.
