Registered Details – Slurry Waterproofing

Tanking slurry waterproofing

The KA Tanking Slurry waterproofing system provides a Type A barrier protection to prevent seepage or ingress in concrete or masonry walls and floors below the ground level and the junctions between them.

On site, the LABC Registered KA tanking slurry is mixed with water to form a smooth paste. This paste is applied directly to concrete or masonry structures and penetrates a short distance into capillary cracks, fissures, and pores in the surface of the concrete. The presence of water and free lime causes the tanking slurry to form insoluble crystals, which block the pores and prevent the passage of water.

If applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance documentation, the system achieves grade 3 protection for type A construction methods when applied to C20 Concrete Construction. Similarly, if applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance documentation, grade 1 protection for type A construction methods can be achieved when applied to Clay Brick Construction.

KA tanking Slurry can be applied to new or old structurally sound surfaces. It can be applied either to the negative or the positive side and will negate dampness in ground water permeation even under hydrostatic pressure. It has been shown to satisfy the recommendations of BS8102:2009.
