Plastics in Construction conference - ASPB

A subject undergoing intense study at the moment is the use of plastics and its effects on the environment.

A conference taking place in London on 28 February, "Plastics in Construction - Issues, Impacts and Alternatives" run by the ASBP (Alliance for Sustainable Building Products) will look at how the construction industry should respond, and tickets at a discounted rate of £100 are available for LABC members. (Other offers are available on a first-come first-served basis for non-members.)

"The construction industry is the second largest user of plastic, with 20% of plastic waste coming from the construction sector."

Simon Corbey, Associate Director of ASBP

The expo will feature 20 leading product manufacturers, charities, academic institutions, air testing specialists and more.

Keynote speakers will be environmentalist and yachtswoman Emily Penn and Professor Sean Smith, Director of Sustainable Construction at Edinburgh Napier University.
