Our latest construction awards event, the East Midlands Building Excellence Awards, took place at the Athena Cinema in Leicester on Friday 6 July 2018.

Hosted by Escape to the Country presenter and radio broadcaster Nicki Chapman, this prestigious construction industry event was attended by 400 guests, gleaned from local authority building control, building companies large and small and agents' and architects' offices from throughout the region.

Winning projects included the Isaac Newton Building at the University of Leicester and the Chadwick visitor and education centre at International Bomber Command in Lincoln.

What do our winners and highly commendeds have in common?

Our 15 winning projects and 5 highly commended projects and individuals have all succeeded in overcoming challenges to reach the highest building standards, excelling in areas such as performance, sustainability, working relationships, innovation and problem-solving.

LABC's Chief Executive Paul Everall said, "The awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate some of the very best in construction in England and Wales, recognising the high level of quality and skill we can and do reach in the UK."
