LABC Acoustics operations during COVID-19 crisis
Prior to the government’s announcement on limiting non-essential travel, LABC Acoustics had already taken the decision to stand down our survey engineers with immediate effect.
This decision was not taken lightly but we must consider our responsibility to proactively manage and do our part to control the spread of the coronavirus. At this time, as a company we have a duty of care to all and must prioritise the safety of our staff, their families and you, our customers.
Thank you for your understanding during these challenging times and our thoughts go to all those individuals who have been affected either by contracting the virus or the mountain of Key workers, putting themselves at risk to support us all.
However, all of our staff are now safely working from home and remain at your disposal for continuing project support.

Building acoustics
Acoustic design to client-specific requirements for:

Schools
The acoustic design of schools has been directly linked to the Building Regulations via Approved Document E (2003) Section 8.
This means that school design needs a more detailed approach where acoustics is concerned. We can offer advice on the following areas:
- Sound insulation
- Internal sound pressure level criteria
- Reverberation time
- Noise egress from schools (e.g. Music noise affecting neighbours)
- Building envelope design
- M&E noise
- Planning & noise - National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)
LABC Acoustics offer noise and vibration assessments together with advice and assistance in obtaining planning permission where noise and vibration are an issue and have represented clients at public inquiries and appeals.

Sound Testing and Assessment
Submitted 3 years 9 months ago
I'm wanting information about testing a new build house that is 15 months old. I've spoken to various LABC people about the issues we are experiencing sometime ago.
I want to understand in our situation what can be fixed.
My neighbours have hard wood floors and the sound transfers into our property. It is like there is no wall between us some days. It is starting to affect my well being limiting my sleep and causing fatigue. It is a 3 bedroom terrace house.
I'm happy to talk to someone. This query is to explore the process, costs, remedy and understand any case studies you may have.
Thanks
Teena Joyce
