Picture of tower block with sun shading - fire safety resource

LABC Warranty have produced a resource 'Fire Safety for Relevant Buildings' that brings together fire safety legislation and guidance for a range of elements that make up the external wall/envelope of relevant buildings.

Aimed at architects, engineers, property developers, build contractors and facade consultants, the resource includes regulatory and LABC Warranty positions in relation to items in the following categories:

  • Elements: including roofs, external walls, solar panels and shading, balconies and winter gardens etc.
  • Systems: including window and door frames, curtain and masonry walls and pre-cast concrete panels etc.
  • Materials and components: such as spandrel and infill panels, thermal breaks and cavity trays (and much more).
  • Remediation and change of use

The relevant regulatory position relates to the Building (Amendment) Regulations 2018, Approved Document B. In addition, any related guidance and relevant exemptions are recorded.

There's also an A-Z listing, printable versions of the records and comprehensive guidance notes and users can subscribe for updates as they're published.
