Elmhurst Energy, the energy performance assessment specialist, has announced the acquisition of the Independent AirTightness Testing Scheme (iATS).

iATS is a government approved scheme created for companies and individuals undertaking air tightness testing services on commercial and residential buildings. Members of the iATS scheme provide a professional service and deliver accurate air testing reports to their clients. Air tightness is a significant factor in constructing energy efficient buildings and meeting building regulations.

As provider of the UK’s largest energy assessor accreditation scheme, Elmhurst Energy has over 20 years' experience of working with the UK Building Regulations. The company continually provides expert support to On Construction Energy Assessors who undertake SAP calculations for new build dwellings, a process which often requires an air tightness test in order to meet building regulations.

“We are delighted to be working with iATS and are fully committed to making this a long and happy relationship,” says Martyn Reed, Managing Director of Elmhurst Energy. “Our knowledge and expertise of Government’s Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP), and Part L of the Building Regulations ensures we are well placed to provide support to iATS members and take the scheme to the next level.”
