Since early 2021, LABC’s CPD courses have been running virtually and prove to be extremely popular with over 5000 delegates trained in 2024.

LABC offers courses to both local authority building control members and other industry professionals, so whether you’re a building control professional, architect, specialist tradesman, site manager, or self-employed builder book onto one of our training courses to update your knowledge. 

The following courses are available to LABC members and industry colleagues

Building Regulation Fire Safety Fundamentals

This course will give an overview of the building regulation requirements that building professionals require a solid understanding of. It will look at the application of fire safety principles to building work and the various approaches to demonstrate compliance.

Building Regulations for Designers, Architects & Specifiers

This course will give an overview of the Building Control process and practices, implications for clients and what to do if things go wrong. This half day practical course will give a good introductory or refresher session for anyone in the construction industry.

Ground Works and Foundations Parts 1 and 2

This course is designed to provide anyone involved in the design, checking, implementation and inspection of foundations, ground works and ground floor slabs with the basic knowledge necessary to perform their role with confidence.

Building Control Management Tools

This half day session is aimed at those new to building control management, with or without a building control background or those just wishing to refresh their existing knowledge. A truly essential course for anyone who is new to the challenge of managing a building control team or is likely to do so in the future.

This one day course provides managers (or aspiring managers) with a better understanding of the legislation that governs how building control finances should be managed and the guidance provided to support local authorities to do this.
