**UPDATE CLC issued further guidance on 7 January 2021 with some minor changes, including updated guidance on self-isolation and shielding and the removal of the requirement to display a QR code in site canteens.**

With England returning to a second COVID-19 lockdown on 5 November the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has issued a message for the construction sector. It reiterates that the construction industry is expected to continue to operate safely throughout this second period of lockdown including working in other people’s homes.

The CLC has produced a variety of guidance relating to COVID-safe construction work including recently updated site operational guidance.

Andy Smith the CLC’s co-chair wrote, "During the recent times of the pandemic we have demonstrated that a wide range of construction types can be done safely – for our workers and the general public around us, and as an industry we have a huge responsibility to do the very best that we can at this very difficult time."

LABC’s Chief Executive, Lorna Stimpson, added, "It is vital that all of construction, including building control, follows the latest guidance to keep construction – and the public – safe. LABC is here to provide help and support for our members during these unprecedented times, so please get in touch for the latest advice."
