Compression lintel system
A new and innovative bolt-together lintel system featuring an innovative design and easy installation process is available from HalleysUK. The compression lintel can provide a cost effective alternative to more traditional concrete or steel beam lintels.
Ideal for openings of up to one metre in existing single-skin internal walls of brick or block, the compression lintel has LABC Registered Details certification and is fully tested and approved for domestic and commercial use.
It is suitable for internal use in single-skin walls only. The lintel comes in two main separate parts, which bolt together each side of the wall to compress the block/brick - enabling the wall below the lintel to be removed. This allows for a lintel to be installed without requiring wet work or props to the existing wall.
Used as a retrofit lintel as per the manufacturer’s detailed installation instructions, the lintel can be installed in just a couple of hours, creating openings, doors, or windows up to one metre width in walls of coursed brick, block, or stone up to 100mm thickness.
While a higher load may be possible in some types of walls, the typical maximum load is 17.8KN. More information is available from www.halleysuk.co.uk
