Build With Us: LABC launches campaign focussing on quality assurance
LABC last week launched their new Quality Management System under the banner 'Build With Us'. LABC started consultation on standards, performance, competencies and qualifications with local authority building control teams two years ago and in 2016 created an autonomous Standards Committee to oversee this work.
The LABC Board has also invested £300,000 in professional development, creating:
- a UKAS accredited and independently audited ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
- a national building control apprenticeship allowing LABC Members to draw down on Levy funding
- accredited level 4 and level 5 qualifications
- a specialist building control degree
Lorna Stimpson, LABC Deputy Managing Director, comments, “Driving up standards and improving professional competencies to develop higher performing and safer buildings are an essential element of LABC’s new Quality Management System.
"We have brought this work together under the banner ‘Build With Us’ to highlight the positive social return on investment made by using Local Authority Building Control teams.”
Local LABC teams are being encouraged to use the attached suite of graphic images on social media to highlight the benefits of the scheme.
