LABC Awards 2024

The LABC Building Excellence Awards Grand Finals 2023 took place at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on Friday 19 January 2024. Over 900 guests attended the black tie event.

The Grand Finals 2023 is a great way to start the year celebrating the amazing projects and people in the construction industry. All of those in attendance were regional winners who had qualified for the Grand Finals with the chance of winning one of the coveted national awards.

These streamlined awards focus on great projects and the people delivering these projects - looking closely at best practices and exemplary projects throughout England and Wales.

The LABC Building Excellence Awards focus on the very best in technical innovation and construction quality, helping to raise the level of construction quality across England and Wales. Employing creative solutions to improve sustainability and energy efficiency and cooperative teamwork are examples of the criteria we use to choose which of our regional winners go on to win or earn a high commendation at these national construction awards.

Event highlights

There were 22 winners and 6 highly commended entries chosen by a construction industry expert panel. Winning projects include;  Above Town in Devon, MG Builders, Chestnuts in Hertfordshire, Battersea Power Station in London, and many more! You can see all of the award winners and highly commended here.

Attendees included representatives from Hertfordshire Building Control, Harrison Architects Studio, Quattro Design Architects, and Heritage Homes to name a few.

LABC's charity of the year 'Rainbow Trust', who help support families who have a child with life-threatening or terminal illness, will benefit from over ยฃ5000 raised on the night. Thanks to everyone for your generous donations!

Here's what Lorna Stimpson, LABC Chief Executive said about the winning projects,

"I firmly believe that one of the best ways to see more good work is to praise building excellence and publicly acknowledge companies, designers, site managers and tradespeople who go that extra mile."
